Include this text at the top of the email:

"Please enter this into the public record for issues at Hyland Hills.  Please confirm that you received this email."

This is so TRPD will maintain a log of these comments, and you will get a response.  Future requests by the public for these logged items should include emails and letters.

Ask for actionable items such as:

  • Make Hyland safer for everyone by limiting the number of skiers/riders and riders on the hill
  • Limit Team Gilboa to 275 members and no more for safety reasons.
  • Prevent collisions by placing appropriate fencing/netting around hazards and redirecting skiers/riders away from beginner areas and areas where people traverse to lifts and other hills.  Give specifics of locations.
  • Put up lift line corrals that work and manage them.
  • Check lift tickets
  • Remove jumps where people spectate, put on/take off their equipment (e.g., in front of the chalet), and fence this off.
  • Close and fence-off runs with unsafe lighting, no safe passage to lifts, too narrow, and not patrolled regularly—for example, the Borealis access trail to the north of North Hill.
  • Pull passes from reckless skiers and prosecute violators of the Skiers' Responsibility Code.
  • Honor Equity and Fairness at Hyland by allocating facilities (including ski hill "race lanes," start ramps, and warming shack) fairly and equitably vs. favouring specific programs largely available only to special interest groups funded by wealthy patrons.
  • Stop subsidizing special interest groups at the expense of taxpayers and other patrons.  Or, give these favors to all patrons and programs.
  • Stop retaliating against people asking for reasonable reforms in our park system.

See the Requests Page for more ideas.   Sign your name (or group name) and address.

You can call TRPD commissioners and management also but you willl not have a written record of this unless you record the call or follow-up with an e-mail or letter documenting your call.
